"Katalog Znaków Pocztowych" means "The Catalogue of Polish Stamps". You will find here descriptions of polish stamps, cancellations, special posts etc. from last years.

The page consists of two parts - first one is a catalogue part, second one contains news and other information. Main page contains latest news. Each headline has its own icon, which are as follows:

All information about new issues of stamps, postal stationeries, special event postmarks, reg. mail labels and mails comes from Polish Post.

In the catalogue part you will find the following sections:

Znaczki - stamps
Karty pocztowe - stampcards (postal stationeries)
Koperty pocztowe - stampenvelopes (postal stationeries)
Datowniki okolicznościowe - special event postmarks
Erki okolicznościowe - special event registered mail labels
Poczty specjalne - special event mail

For each stamp series there is a heading with information about the date of issue and a name of emission. Next you can see picture(s) of stamps, then a table with the following fields:

Nr kat. - catalogue number
Nominał - stamp value
Nakład - issue (number of stamps issued)
Technika druku - technique of printing (staloryt - steel engraving, rotograwiura - rotogravure, offset - offset), also with name of printing house (PWPW is Polish Printing House of Securities)
Papier - type of paper (kredowy - chalk overlay paper, offsetowy - offset paper, fluorescencyjny - fluorescent)
Ząbkowanie - measurement of perforation. A letter after number indicates the position of oval hole for latest stamps: for first value (horizontal): l - left, s - middle, p - right, for second value (vertical): g - top, s - middle, d - down. If only one value is given that means both values are the same.
Projekt - name of designer, for engraved stamps also engraver's name (after abbrev. "ryt.")
Forma sprzedaży - form of selling: arkusz - sheet, arkusik - small sheet (mostly decorative) blok - block, znaczek z bloku - stamp printed in block

Under the table there is a description of stamp's picture, next number of FDC's and the name the Post Office where the first day of issue postmark was used. Then you will find additional information. For stamps issued untill 1994 you will find information "W obiegu do" followed by the date - this is the date of the last day of circulation - all Polish stamps issued before 1995 in "old" zloty had been withdrawn because of the denomination.
